CURRICULUM

Year 3
Introduction into Arithmancy. The Chaldean and the Pythagorean System. Applying numbers to sounds through different ways (sequence vs. sound, formulas, pros and cons).
Traits and meanings of numbers & the relationships between numbers. Character Number.
Social and Heart Numbers & their meanings/influences on the life. Possible carreer paths, partners.
Birth Number. Astronomical bodies assigned to them. Meaning of birth no. & basics of predicting future (deriving root numbers of dates). Personal years (universal, calender and personal cycle).
Multiple digits & their meaning. Double and Tripple digits, special numbers. (When you come across one in your calculations, you need to specifically explain it & find meaning in it).

Homework assignments:
1. Calculate character number using the Pythagorean and Chaldean system. Write a short essay comparing the results, with a focus on how these numbers define/describe you.
2. Calculate your Heart's Desire and Life Path Number using the Chaldean and Pythagorean system. Compare the results and analyze their relationship & influence on your life.
3. Using the knowledge from your last HW assignment, propose an ideal career for yourself. Reduce career numerologically for a detailed analysis.
4. Calculate your birth number and analyze it in relation to yourself.
5. Analyze the influence of your birth number on your life, by choosing up to five different events, drawing the root numbers from the dates of their occurence.
6. Using your birth number, analyze possible occurences of upcoming events in your life, and suggest an approach of preventing the worst/drawing out the best possible outcome. [e.g.: the numbers say the quidditch game won't end well for me, and looking at my heart number, maybe I should work on this and that, because the trouble might be because of this and then that is a good way to prevent it.]
7. Describe the different year cycles (universal, calender, personal) & their different purposes and argue which you find the most purposeful for deriving of personal years. Use your cycle of choice to outline your following personal year. Use an arbitrary number of dates of your choice.

EXAM
1. Describe the Pythagorean and the Chaldean systems and name their pros and cons. Which do you prefer and why? Is a combined analysis adviced and if so, what are it's benefits?
2. Choose one method (or combine) to calculate all your personal numbers. Include birth number and provide an analysis.
3. Describe the year cycles and explain their meaning for the purposes of divination through numerology. Which cycle would you referr to when and why - 1 example each.
4. In which personal year are you? (Do not forget to specify which cycle you are referring.) Reflect on the events in this regard.
5. Why is today a good/bad day for you to take the test?

Year 4
Chaldean and Pythagorean Systems. Short revision, special focus on formulas for applying numbers to sounds.
Hebrew System and the Kabbalah. Numerical value of letters and their application in different alphabets (main focus on latin alphabet).
Relationship between numbers. Revision.
Isomancy. Different methods of counting & their application. Importance and meaning of applying different methods of arithmancy. Pros and cons of each. Logical letter substitution as a way of reading hidden messages comprised by words, or sentences (phrases, idioms, etc.). Equations. Relationships between words. Words and phrases that reduce to the same/opposing/related numbers.

Homework assignments:
♣ Write short essays on the methods used and their meaning. Analyze pros and cons of using given method.
♣ Find the hidden meaning/numerical value of different examples of words/word pairs/word groups/sentences by using the different methods and establish a relationship between them.
♣ Decipher relationships and hidden meaning of various phrases, idioms, letters, poems, etc by using Isomancy and logical letter substitution.
♣ Write essays on the relationship between words, or within the assigned word group.

♣ Using the 'Method of the Absolute Value' find the numerical value of the following words: wine, water. Write essay on the relationship.
♣ 'When in Rome, do as Romans do.' Calculate and decipher. Reduction method and Atbash.

EXAM
1. f(x)= (10floor((x-1)÷9)) x (((x-1) rem 9) + 1). Explain.
2. "Wine, Secret." Absolute and Triangular Value. Method of filling. Brief analysis of results.
3. "Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin." Ordinal and Square Value. Addition. Brief analysis of results.
4. "The fire's lit, but the cauldron's empty." Multiply and analyse.
5. "In for a knut, in for a galleon." Reduce and analyse.
6. "Merlin, Morgana". Atbash and Albam. Compare.

Year 5
Numerology and Divination. Using number patterns and sequences to predict future.
Golden Ratio & Golden Spiral / Fibonacci's sequence.
Meaning of proportions and structures. Ultimate Principles. Other sequences. Khayyam Triangle, etc.
Calculating the Future. Basic formulas. Algorithms. Sequence expressed within a finite amount of space and time. Effective method for calculating a function/time graph.
Hagiometry. Flower of Life, various shapes and solids. Strength of symbols. Applying universal principles to shapes.

Homework assignments:
♣ Looking at the Fibonacci sequence, assign events in your life to the numbers (& argue why these events belong to those numbers - including a numerological reduction). Predict 5 events in the future by using the remaining numbers.
♣ Various calculations.
♣ Hagiometry: Drawings of symbols and essays about their meanings.
♣ Calculus & Hagiometry: Calculate & based on your calculations draw a graph/shape.

EXAM
1. φ = (1 + √5) / 2 Explain.
2. F(n) = F(n-1) + F(n-2) Explain, draw the shape and apply on a concrete example.
3. Calculus.
4. Based on your calculations, design a graph. Explain it in relation to possible future events.
5. Give an example of the Khayyam Triangle and explain in relation to a concrete example.
6. Explain and draw the flower of life.
7. In the drawing of the flower of life, draw the Tetrahedron and argue it's symbolism and meaning as an ultimate principle in regards to the subject of numerology.
Year 6
Meaning of numbers, their relationships, personal numbers (revision, in-depth analysis).
Pythagorean & Chaldean Systems, Isomancy (Revision).

♦ Wikipedia, for the math stuff.

Notes:

I originally designed this to get a better understanding of Arithmancy for myself, because canon!Rin is good at Math and this was the closes equivalent, that is there in the HP universe. But I got so much into it, that I ended up putting too much thought and effort into it and ended up referencing it a lot, and thus began to feel like I should make this public.

You can use it, discard it, or add to it as much as you want, this is no way meant to be an absolute guide. I used to hate Math in Middle School, so my knowledge of it is limited. I put up everything into it that I remembered, plus some wikipedia knowledge. It's basically the notes from the cited links put together into a curriculum.

I also renamed the discipline of "gematria" into "isomancy" and "sacred geometry" into "hagiometry". The former because it's simply the hebrew name of "geometry". Geometry is called "isometry" in Greek, which I changed to "Isomancy" (mantei - predict), because I thought it would have been something wizards would have done in the course of centuries. The latter I thought sounded too religious. Again, I borrowed the word hagios from greek, which means sacred as well. Yeah, inventive, I know. In modern Greek it's pronounce "aiyos", with "a" pronounced like in "art".
